CDM Co-ordinator
If you are a construction client, designer, principal contractor or contractor you will need the services of a CDM Co-ordinator on your projects. The role of the CDM Co-ordinator is a requirement of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007. Staff at Michael Cox and Company have been trained as a CDM Co-ordinator’s by the Association of Project Safety through their accredited courses allowing us to be classified as Registered Members of the Association of Project and we are listed on their register of Competent Practitioners as is required by Appendix 7 of the Approved Code of Practice to the CDM Regulations.
Our extensive experience in managing the design of construction projects makes us ideal for the role of CDM Co-ordinator. As we have worked as clients, consultants and contractors we see the issues from all sides. We work with Clients to identify the information available and make sure it is documented and made available to the design and construction teams. We work with the design team to identify risks to safety at both design and construction stages, and to follow this through by assisting with the development of appropriate strategies for risk removal, reduction or transfer.
We can stay involved right through the construction phase to make sure welfare is considered, correct procedures are followed and changes are managed with safety in mind. At the end of the project we summarise the principal safety issues into the project Health and Safety File.
The role of CDM Co-ordinator can be combined with the other roles offered by Michael Cox & Company.
