Allevard Springs appointed Michael Cox & Co to provide CDM co-ordination services for the reconstruction of their automotive suspension spring plant at Clydach Vale, Rhondda, following extensive fire damage. Working with Allevard staff and Peter Chapman Associates systems of work were developed to allow demolition, restoration, reconstruction to take place while some spring manufacture was continued on this small site. The work was both complex and heavily interconnected, due the the collapsed nature of the building part of the processes were relocated while work took place. By  identifying safe areas of work and operating permit systems, a modus operandi was established that allowed fast reconstruction and eventually full manufacture after 5 months.
